Easy Homemade Orange Sherbet Recipe

It doesn't get any easier than this.This recipe makes awesome ice cream that Nana Kay calls "the most refreshing sherbet or ice cream [she's] ever had!"


48 ounces of your favorite orange soda
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (8oz)


Chill ice cream vat in freezer
Use a hand mixer to blend milk and soda
Pour in ice cream vat and follow ice cream maker instructions
Process for 35-40 minutes

We used to have this when I was a kid and it is just as good now as it was then. I used Virgil's Orange Cream Soda (Four 12oz bottles), but we used to use Nehi. You can do this with any type of fruity soda for your favorite flavor of sherbet/sorbet!

  1. I did that with NuGrape. It was the most sickeningly sweet thing I have ever consumed. Of course, the fact I ate the whole thing might be the reason. But, I might try this again with orange and company to share. Thanks for reminding me of this goody.
