How to Cook a Whole Pumpkin and Recipe for Pumpkin Gut Bread

How to Cook a Whole Pumpkin and Recipe for Pumpkin Gut Bread | Dianasaur Dishes

You may have noticed all the extra pumpkins we had on our front porch. They came as decorations for my sister's wedding weekend before last. I took them with the plan to can or store them all for future use.

So now comes the first pumpkin project. I want to get a few things out of this first pumpkin: some bread, some puree to store, and hopefully some homemade pumpkin ravioli.

I'm in the process of making her pumpkin gut bread now. I will update this post with details.

Update:
Bread turned out fine. I wouldn't say it is spectacular, or that it is super pumpkiny. Just kinda regular sweet bread kinda taste to it. I only had half as much nutmeg as was supposed to go in it, but I don't suppose that would make that huge of a difference. The toasted seeds I tried to do kind of failed. I threw them to the poultry. Hope to have better luck the next time I toast seeds (I only have 9 more pumpkins to use up).
